Flumphaderries, Flanganans and the Real Book of Bennachie is Deborah's first children's novel. Following the success of this novel Deborah has published two collections of short stories written entirely in the North-east's Doric dialect: Doric - Alive an Kickin and Doric - Alive an Kickin 2.

The married mother of two lives in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. Her short stories appear regularly in national magazines and she has also been published in the North-east's Leopard magazine. She is an award-winning Doric author and likes to spik in her ain tung whenever she can.

Deborah also works with Mental Health/Substance Misuse groups in Aberdeenshire using Creative Writing as a therapeutic tool and as a means of self-expression (references available).

Deborah also visits local groups and schools to give talks, readings and to deliver Creative Writing workshops. School visits can be tailored to suit curriculum and age range. She has also been involved with workshop days for Adult Literacy and Teacher Training.

 

Deborah is also available for bookings as an After Dinner Speaker.
